CORPS ANNOUNCES APRIL PROGRAMS AT DEWEY SHORT VISITOR CENTER

BRANSON, Mo. -- The Army Corps of Engineers Dewey Short Visitor Center at Table Rock Lake is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. An indoor water safety area, is available through the month of May, during normal visitor center hours.

In addition, several park ranger led programs are planned through the end of April.  All programs begin at the visitor center, are free, open to the public, and registration is not required. 

Nature tales is held Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.  Join park rangers and volunteers for nature stories and activities. The 30 minute program includes reading nature themed stories and hands-on activities.                                                                          

Hydropower will be held Friday, April 15 and Friday, April 22 at 2 p.m.  Learn about hydropower and how it is produced at Table Rock Dam.

Cloud I.D. is scheduled for Wednesday, April 20 at 2 p.m. Learn how to predict the weather by looking at the type of cloud floating in the sky.

Mammal mania will be held Sunday, April 24 from 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Participants of all ages can test their mammal knowledge by matching photos, furs, skulls, scat, and tracks!

The program “Where does pollution come from?” will be held Monday, April 25 at 2 p.m.  Check out our 3-D model to find out how some of your daily activities may be contributing to pollution. 

            Stay safe on the water is scheduled Thursday, April 21 and Saturday, April 30 for 2 p.m.  Come learn tips that may save your life or the life of someone you love!
