LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -  The Army Corps of Engineers issued a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Recent heavy rains caused flows to rise.  During the high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft.

Flows at Trimble Lock and Dam near Van Buren were about 75,000 cubic feet per second.  Flows at Dardanelle Lock and Dam at Russellville were 113,000 c.f.s. and climbing.  Flows at Murray Lock and Dam at Little Rock were about 74,000 c.f.s. and are climbing.  Flows at Emmett Sanders Lock and Dam at Pine Bluff were about 74,000 c.f.s. and are climbing.

All pleasure boaters are urged to stay off the river until flows recede below 70,000 c.f.s.  Daily river information can be obtained at http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil or the Corps’ mobile App which can be found in mobile App stores by searching for USACE Little Rock.
