SPECIAL LOCKING INSTRUCTIONS
MULTIPLE LOCATONS
MCCLELLAN-KERR ARKANSAS RIVER NAVIGATION SYSTEM
Due to ongoing construction at the following locations on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System
Murry Lock (No.7) NM 125.4
Toad Suck Ferry Lock (No. 8) NM 155.9
Arthur V. Ormond Lock (No. 9) NM 176.9
Dardanelle Lock (No. 10) NM 205.5
Ozark Jetta-Taylor Lock (No. 12) NM 256.9
James W. Trimble Lock (No. 13) NM 292.8
Mariners are advised that the stoplog slot cuts may be unprotected at times and coffer boxes may be in place. To reduce the risk of damage to the lock walls, all up-bound and down-bound tows must stop and orient themselves in a straight position prior to lockage and avoid contact with the lock walls in the vicinity of the stoplog slot cuts. Tow captains are to follow all commands of the lock operator to safely transit by the land wall and river wall slot cuts, located 20 feet upstream of the upstream miter gate recesses and 20 feet downstream of the downstream miter gate recesses. These locking instructions are to remain in place until the end of the construction window this fall.
Mariners are asked to contact the lock via radio on Channel 16 in advance of arrival, for current conditions.
