ROGERS, Ark. -- USACE accepts applications to burn flood debris around Beaver Lake
ROGERS, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Beaver Lake Project Office is accepting applications from adjacent landowners to burn driftwood and other flood debris on public land around Beaver Lake through Aug. 15, 2026.
Property owners must obtain written permission before conducting any burning or debris removal. USACE officials will evaluate each request on a case-by-case basis. Some approvals may require a restoration plan or other conditions to protect natural resources.
Burning may occur on public land adjacent to private property or permitted docks if the following conditions are met:
- The local fire department must be notified of when and where the burning will occur.
- No burning is allowed if a burn ban is in effect.
- Only driftwood may be burned.
- Standing vegetation may not be cut, burned, or removed.
- Trash including plastic, rubber, Styrofoam, or other synthetic materials may not be burned.
- Fires must not be left unattended.
- No dirt-moving equipment may be used to remove trees or debris.
All applications must be submitted by the end of the day on Aug. 15, 2026. Burning on public land without permission is a violation of Title 36 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, which outlines public use rules for USACE water resources projects. These rules help protect the natural resources on public property.
