LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Complete your gift giving by donating your discarded Christmas tree for fish cover at Beaver Lake, Bull Shoals Lake or Norfork Lake.
To donate, take your old Christmas tree to the following locations:
Beaver Lake: Highway 12 launch ramp, Monte Ne launch ramp, Don Roufa launch ramp. For Bull Shoals Lake and Norfork Lake, trees can be dropped off at any public launch ramp.
Please deposit trees to the side of the ramp, being careful not to block ramp access or parking areas.
All trees must be real, not artificial, and free of ornaments and tinsel to prevent harm to fish. Trees will be available for anyone interested in using them to provide shelter for fish and serve as attractors for recreational fishing.
Anyone wanting to use the trees are welcome to pick them up to sink as fish cover, but it must be done with natural rock as an anchor. Trees must also not be sunk in any areas that could create potential boating hazards.
