BRANSON, Mo. -- Dewey Short Visitor Center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  It is located just south of Table Rock Dam on State Highway 165.  The visitor center offers interactive displays, a 22-minute movie about the purpose and construction of the dam, as well as viewing decks overlooking Table Rock Lake and Dam. Picnic facilities and a 2.2 mile asphalt surface trail are located on the visitor center grounds.

Park rangers will be offering the following interpretive programs and events at Dewey Short Visitor Center during the month of June.  All programs are free of charge and no registration is required.

Visit with a park ranger at the overlook beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays, June 6, 13, 20 and 27.  The ranger will be available to answer questions and point out features of the dam and powerhouse. Visitors can come and go. Meet at the overlook off Highway 165.  Just across the highway/dam from Dewey Short Visitor Center.  The ranger will be on-site for 30 minutes and this program is appropriate for all ages.

Join park rangers as they partner with Missouri Department of Conservation at the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery for the annual Family Fishing Fair June 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free and children 15 and under can fish the stocked pond while learning to be a better angler.  

Friday, June 15, you can visit with park rangers at the Springfield Cardinals verses Arkansas Travelers game at Hammons Field located in downtown Springfield at N. National Avenue and E. Trafficway Street. 

On Saturday, June 16, from noon until 9 p.m., park rangers will have a table you can visit at the Finley River Park for the River Jam 2018 in Ozark, Missouri.

Stop by the Dewey Short Visitor Center on Thursday at 11 a.m. June 7 and 28 to learn about the benefits and production of hydropower. You can also participate in learning about the importance of water quality at the Dewey Short Visitor Center at 11 a.m. on June 8 and 29. Join park rangers to play various games and win prizes while learning about energy at the Dewey Short Visitor Center Energy Carnival at 10 a.m. on June 26.
