Rogers, Ark. –The section of Arkansas Highway 187 that crosses Beaver Dam is currently closed but one lane of traffic will open beginning Wednesday, May 23 to accommodate travel during the holiday weekend.  All Dam Site Lake and River campgrounds and day use parks will be open. Some dam site camping sites may be closed because of high water.

The opposing lane will remain closed to stage equipment needed for the current intake gate rehabilitation project.

A traffic light system will be in place to control the one lane closure across the dam. We apologize for any inconvenience or delays this may cause.

Work on Beaver Dam is expected to resume on May 29 which will again require a total lane closure across Beaver Dam for an undetermined amount of time. The closure is being coordinated with emergency services and law enforcement agencies. If traveling in the area after May 29, please plan alternate routes and allow extra time to reach your destinations.  The recommended alternate route for travelers is Highway 62.

If more information about Beaver Lake, please call the Beaver Lake Project Office at 479-636-1210.
