BRANSON, Mo. - The Army Corps of Engineers opened six of its recreation areas on Table Rock Lake April 1. These parks included Campbell Point, Cape Fair, Cricket Creek, Mill Creek, Old Highway 86, and Indian Point.  

Aunts Creek, Baxter, Big M, Eagle Rock, and Viola parks will open May 1.  Moonshine Beach, which is a day-use only area, will open May 15.

Site specific camping and picnic shelter reservations for Table Rock Lake recreation areas can be made through the National Recreation Reservation Service by calling toll free 1-877-444-6777 or visiting the reservation website at www.ReserveUSA.com.  

Dewey Short Visitor Center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Park rangers will be offering the following interpretive programs and events at Dewey Short Visitor Center during the month of April.  All programs are free of charge and no registration is required. 

Stop by the visitor center to learn about hiking trails available in southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas at 1 p.m. Wednesdays, April 11, 18 and 25. 

Visit with a park ranger at the overlook off Highway 165, just across the highway/dam from Dewey Short Visitor Center beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursdays, April 12, 19 and 26.  The ranger will be on-site for 30 minutes to answer questions and point out features of the dam and powerhouse. Visitors can come and go as they please and this program is appropriate for all ages.

Table Rock Dam Talk will be offered at 1 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 13 - 15 and April 20 – 22.  Have you seen the movie but have more questions? Want to know more facts and figures?  Confused about how something works? Then join us for a talk about the building and operating of Table Rock Dam and find the answers to those elusive questions.  This program will last 30-45 minutes and is appropriate for all ages.
