LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION: The mission consists of providing ‘one door to the Corps’ support to the Air Force Medical Service’s Medical Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization SupportPhoto. Crane liftung building materials to a second story apartment. Program. In fiscal year 2010, the program is expected to include 44 projects worth about $342 million with sites in 24 states. The work consists of rehabilitation and remodeling Air Force medical, dental, and veterinary facilities.

STATUS: The mission was permanently transferred to the Little Rock District on 1 October 2009. The Little Rock District began to staff up for this mission transfer in July 2009 and currently has 15 permanent employees and 2 contractors dedicated to the execution of this new work. Additional permanent hires are anticipated in FY10. The Little Rock District is also working to get contracts in place with at total capacity of approximately $920 million. These contracts include $494 million for emergency infrastructure repair, $225 million for architectural-engineering services, and $200 million for initial outfitting.

ISSUES AND OTHER INFORMATION: Although the work is currently confined to bases within the United States, the Air Force wants to expand the mission to include all their bases worldwide.
