Project History

Construction on Murray Lock & Dam began in April 1965, Toad Suck Ferry Lock & Dam in December 1965, and Arthur V. Ormond Lock & Dam in January 1966. All three projects were completed for navigation in November 1969, at an estimated cost of $88,400,000.

The city of North Little Rock completed the construction of a hydro-power plant at Murray Lock & Dam at an estimated cost of $102,000,000.
