The Army Corps of Engineers is seeking bids for farming leases on 44 plots of public land around Lake Dardanelle for agriculture, hay production and grazing. The plots range in size from eight acres to 712 acres and total more than 6,485 acres. More

CLEARWATER DAM REHABILITATION PROJECT CUTOFF WALL COMPLETED
The primary element of the Clearwater Major Rehabilitation project was completed Dec. 6 when the last of the 277 concrete panels was completed. Installation of a clay blanket over the dam and work on the overflow spillway is scheduled for completion in 2014. More

No 4th of July fireworks viewing at Dewey Short Visitor Center
BRANSON, Mo. - The Army Corps of Engineers at Table Rock Lake will close the Dewey Short Visitor Center grounds at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, July 3. The grounds will reopen at 6 a.m. July 4. The Corps is not allowing fireworks viewing on the visitor center grounds this year because ongoing construction limits parking and viewing areas. More

Beaver Lake Recreation Season Update

ARKANSAS RIVER SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY TO REMAIN IN EFFECT THROUGH HOLIDAY WEEKEND
LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- The Army Corps of Engineers is reminding boaters a small craft advisory remains in effect for the Arkansas River in Arkansas and will remain in effect beyond the Memorial Day Weekend. Flows on the river are well above safe levels for pleasure boats. Advisories are issued when flows exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second. Currents become swifter and stronger, and large debris is carried downstream. More

ROGERS, Ark. -- Construction of a “grout curtain” through Beaver Dam Dike 3 is set to begin Monday to correct the dike’s chronic seepage problem. One lane of Dam Site Road (Carroll County Road 113), which crosses atop the dike, will be closed during the work. More

TABLE ROCK DAM OVERLOOK TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE
BRANSON, Mo. – The Table Rock Dam Overlook will be temporarily closed from 6 a.m. May 9 until 5 p.m. May 10 while a microwave tower is disassembled and removed, barring weather delays. More

SPILLWAY DISCHARGE NOW UNLIKELY AT CLEARWATER DAM
PIEDMONT, Mo. – Dryer weather and close management of releases from Clearwater Dam have lessened the odds there will be a discharge over the spillway. In fact, engineers say it now appears likely the lake will crest near the rim of the spillway without going over. More

PIEDMONT, Mo. – Heavy rains have filled Clearwater Lake and might require a small discharge over the spillway within the next few days. There will be no net change in the total amount of water moving downstream from the dam. More

BRANSON, Mo. – The Army Corps of Engineers is postponing the temporary closure of Highway 165/265 across Table Rock Lake until weather conditions improve. Highway 165/265 was scheduled to be closed for 14 days beginning Tuesday while repairs are made on the downstream embankment of the dam. More

RELEASES STEPPED UP AT CLEARWATER DAM
PIEDMONT, Mo. – Heavy overnight rains fell over the Clearwater Lake drainage basin requiring discharges through the conduit to increase Monday morning to 4,000 cubic feet per second. Releases may be increased to as much as 9,000 c.f.s during the day if forecasted rainfall is realized. That would be the largest releases ever made at Clearwater. High Water Safety at Corps Lakes
Flooding rains have caused several Little Rock District lakes and rivers to rise to unusually high levels. Many recreation areas are being impacted, although recreation is still possible. However, extra precautions should be taken to ensure a safe visit. More
