CORPS PLANS PRESCRIBED BURNS AROUND GREERS FERRY LAKE

HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. -- Personnel from the Greers Ferry Project Office, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and the Arkansas Forestry Commission will conduct prescribed burns in and around Point 14, Lake Ice Road, Sugar Loaf Peninsula, Dam Site and Cherokee parks during the next several months when weather conditions are favorable.

These burns improve stand health, enhance wildlife value, and reduce fuel loading. It will also promote vigorous growth of new understory vegetation such as grasses and forbs important to wildlife for food and protective cover.

For questions or further information, please contact the Greers Ferry Project office at 501-362-2416. You can find information about Little Rock District on Facebook here.
