Montgomery Point Lock and Dam

These photographs were taken of construction activities on-going at the Montgomery Point Lock and Dam construction site. The project is located on the White River at N.M. 0.5 of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. The prime contractor is J.A. Jones/Atkinson -Constructors, A Joint Venture.

The work consists of construction of a new lock, dam, crest gate dewatering system, diversion channel, channel revetments, dikes, control tower, and mooring area. The structure consists of a 110-foot-wide by 600-foot-long (usable dimension) miter-gated U-frame concrete lock, with 524-foot concrete floating guide walls; a 300-foot-wide bottom lift hinged-crested gated navigable pass concrete spillway, including ten 30-foot-wide gates; and a 200-foot-wide fixed crest concrete overflow spillway.
