Camping

Season:  Most parks are open for camping from May 15 – September 15.  Sections of Choctaw, Dam Site, Devils Fork and John F. Kennedy Parks are open year round.  Payment is made via honor box during the off-season.  See individual park section below for more information.

Campsite reservations:
-          Made through the National Recreation Reservation Service at 1-877-444-6777 or www.recreation.gov.
-          60% of Sites are reservable. 
-          First reservable date for John F. Kennedy Park is 15 April 2015; last reservable date is 10 September 2015.
-          All other parks first reservable date is 15 May 2015; last reservable date 10 September 2015.
-          Reserve individual campsites 6 months ahead, group areas 360 days ahead.

Electrical outlets:  Located at all sites in John F. Kennedy, Devils Fork and Narrows Parks, and at more than half the sites in the remainder of fee parks (except Mill Creek).  Electrical outlets are operational in selected sites year round at Dam Site, John F. Kennedy and Devils Fork Parks. 

Water:  Municipal drinking water supplies all parks.   

Sewer:  No individual sewer hookups available on Greers Ferry Lake.    

Dump stations:  Located at all fee parks except Mill Creek.

Showers:  Located at all campground  except Cherokee and Mill Creek Parks.

Group camping:  Provided at Old Hwy 25 Park $150.00 fee/night.  Advanced reservation required by calling 1-877-444-6777 or at www.recreation.gov.

Playgrounds:  Located in John F. Kennedy, Heber Springs, Old Highway 25, Devils Fork, Shiloh, Sugar Loaf and Choctaw Parks.  Parents please watch your children at all times.

Pets: NO PETS ALLOWED IN DAY USE AREAS!!!

Description: : Campground is located on the northeastern section of the lower lake between Drasco and Greers Ferry.

Location: : From Drasco, AR, take Hwy 92 West 7 miles then 3 miles south on Brownsville Road. Follow signs into campground.

Description: Campground is located on the western end of the upper lake south of Clinton, AR.

Location: From Clinton, AR, take US 65 5 miles south to AR 330 then 3.5 miles east. Follow signs into campground.

Description: Campground is located on the south end of the lower lake southwest of Heber Springs, AR.

Location: From Heber Springs, Arkansas, travel 6.3 miles southwest on SR 25, then 3 miles northwest on SR 16, then 1.25 miles northeast on access road. Follow signs into campground.

Description: : Old Highway 25 has a group camp area designed for larger groups who wish to camp together.

Location: : For Old Highway 25, from Heber Springs, AR, take Hwy 25 6.25 miles north to Tumbling Shoals, AR and Hwy. 25S. Travel Hwy. 25S 3 miles west and follow signs into campground.

Facilities: Old Highway 25’s camp area B has 16 campsites (without electricity), flush toilet, drinking water, launching ramp and picnic shelter. Showers are available elsewhere in the park.

Fees: $150 per night. Reservations for these areas may be made through the National Recreation Reservation Service.

Location: From Heber Springs, AR, take Hwy 25 north 4 miles, cross dam, and turn right on the second road.

Description: Campground is located in the middle area of the upper lake southwest of Greers Ferry. 

Location: From Higden, AR, take Hwy 16 south 2 miles, then take Hwy 92 west 1 mile then north 2 miles on Mill Creek Road. Follow signs.

Description: Dam Site Campground is located at Greers Ferry Dam at the foot of Round Mountain in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of north-central Arkansas. The environment provides the ideal location for family camping, fishing, boating and hiking.
