MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – As a result of budget constraints the Army Corps of Engineers’ Mountain Home Project Office will defer all new shoreline activity requests at Norfork Lake from May 1 until Oct. 1.  Written requests or applications will not be accepted during the deferral period.

This deferral will not affect shoreline permit renewal requests or ownership transfers.

Shoreline use requests include fire protection (mowing/under brushing) and footpath permits, private or community boat dock requests and requests for modification to an existing boat dock. Permit holders are reminded that the terms and conditions of their permits will still be enforced and all zoning criteria and shoreline management regulations remain in effect.

For information, call Bruce Caldwell at 501-340-1425 or Mountain Home Project Office at 425-2700, extension 1425.
