RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The first week of November marks the winter recreation season for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Russellville Project Office.  Partial or full closure of several parks stretching from Little Rock to Fort Smith allow for maintenance needs and campsite recuperation from the 2014 recreation season.

Although day use will be allowed, the following parks will be closed to camping: Cherokee, Clear Creek, Piney Bay, Riverview and Shoal Bay.

Aux Arc, Maumelle, Old Post Road, Spadra, Springhill and Toad Suck parks will remain open for camping and day use.  It is important to note that the parks remaining open, excluding Maumelle, will be staffed by volunteers and will be first come first served only.  The parks staffed by volunteer attendants will only be able to accept cash or check as payment.

All parks will reopen March 1, 2015, marking the beginning of peak recreation season.  For more information, please contact the Russellville Project Office at 479-968-5008.
