LITTLE ROCK, Ark.  – Beginning today the Little Rock District, Corps of Engineers is reopening Corps-operated campgrounds, day-use areas, visitor centers and offices that are normally open this time of year.

"Our ranger staff hit the ground running this morning opening facilities,” said Little Rock District Commander Col. Robert Dixon. “All of the facilities closed yesterday due to the federal government shutdown will reopen today. Only a few Little Rock District parks remain open throughout the winter months so be sure to check the recreation.gov website before you visit one or our parks.”

Visitors can log online to www.recreation.gov or call 1-877-444-6777 to verify if a facility is normally open or closed during winter months.

Recreational campsites closed Jan. 22 because of the government shutdown. Visitors whose reservations were cancelled during the shutdown will receive a full refund. To request a refund, please call customer service at 1-888-448-1474 (TDD 1-877-833-6777).
