    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. -- The Army Corps of Engineers wants to remind boaters that Arkansas spearfishing season opens on June 15. The clear, clean lakes attract many divers, and the opening of spearfishing season promises to draw an even higher numbers of divers to area lakes.

    ROGERS, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District will open spillway gates Wednesday through Saturday at Beaver Dam in lieu of releases through the power generator.
  • ONE LANE OF HIGHWAY 177 BRIDGE ACROSS NORFORK DAM TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers will temporarily close one lane of Highway 177 across Norfork Dam at 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. June 5, weather permitting, to remove equipment used to perform maintenance on the dam’s tainter gates.
  • CORPS REOPENS SWIM BEACH ON NORFORK LAKE

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Mountain Home Project Office announces that Bidwell Point swim beach on Norfork Lake have been retested and officials have determined that it is safe for public use.
  • CORPS TO CONDUCT MAINTENANCE WORK AT BONA DEA PARK

    RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers’ Russellville Site Office will be conducting park maintenance at Bona Dea Park beginning May 30 and should be completed by the end of June. The under brushing project will improve park aesthetics, trail visibility, and remove invasive species.
  • HIGHWAY 178 BRIDGE ACROSS BULL SHOALS DAM TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers will close both lanes of Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam from noon until 5 p.m. June 5, to remove equipment used to perform maintenance on the dam’s tainter gates.

  • CORPS CLOSES GILLHAM LAKE SWIM BEACH

    ASHDOWN, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers, Millwood Tri-Lakes Project Office is closing Coon Creek swim beach on Gilliam Lake until further notice. The temporary closure is the result of a blue-green algae bloom. Corps officials said boating and fishing is allowed but urges visitors to avoid the algae when out on the lake.

    MKARNS - Arthur V. Ormond Lock and Dam (No. 9) NM 176.9 will be closed to navigation traffic from July 11 (7 a.m.) to July 14 (7 a.m.) to complete electrical repairs to the lock’s interlock controls.
