    MKARNS - To ensure the safety of life and property during the Pops on the River fireworks display in Little Rock, AR, a safety zone will be established by the Coast Guard for the Arkansas River from mile marker 118.8 to mile marker 119.5. The safety zone will be in effect from 9:20 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on 4 July, 2015.

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Mountain Home Project Office has announced that Lakeview Park swim beach on Bull Shoals Lake has been cleared of higher than acceptable E. coli levels. Water samples from the swim beach have been retested and determined that it is safe for public use.

    MKARNS (NM 289.0 - NM 293.0) - A Military Exercise “Restricted Zone” will close the Arkansas River (NM 289.0 to NM 293.0) to all traffic August 4, 2015 from 4:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The 841st Engineering Battalion will be conducting a bridge crossing exercise.
  • Corps Cautions Lake Users, Issues Update on Available Recreation Areas

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers is urging all visitors to Bull Shoals and Norfork lakes to exercise extreme caution while water levels are high. Campers, swimmers, and boaters visiting park areas should use extreme caution and be aware that certain recreation areas may be closed to the public for their protection. Boaters should be aware that with the higher water conditions objects normally out of the water are now submerged and difficult to see.
  • CORPS USES LAST RESORT METHOD TO DISCOURAGE VULTURES FROM DAMAGING DAMS

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers’ Mountain Home Project Office will use a last resort method in upcoming months to discourage hundreds of vultures from damaging the infrastructures at Bull Shoals and Norfork dams.
