    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -‑ The Army Corps of Engineers has issued a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River in Arkansas because recent heavy rains have caused flows to rise. During the high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure crafts.

    LITTLE ROCK, AR The Coast Guard has established a Safety Zone for the Arkansas River on June 1, 2013, from mile marker 124.0 to 118.0, in support of the Arkansas River Canoe and Kayak Race. The Safety Zone will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    JAMES W. TRIMBLE L&D - Mariners are advised that James W. Trimble Lock and Dam (No. 13) NM 292.8 will be closed to navigation traffic from 12 noon until 4 p.m. on June 3, 2013, and from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on June 4 and June 5.

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – After receiving extensive input from the public, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District will implement a new program for recreational boaters on 11 of the 13 Arkansas locks along the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System.
  • CORPS LIFTS SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR ARKANSAS RIVER

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers has lifted the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. Even though flows have receded below that threshold, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.

    LITTLE ROCK, AR - To ensure the safety of life and property on the navigable waters during the Riverfest fireworks display, a safety zone will be established by the Coast Guard for the Arkansas River from mile marker 118.8 to mile marker 119.5. The safety zone will be in effect from 9:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on May 26, 2013.
