  • Beaver IRRM Environmental Assessment Public Comment Period

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District (Corps), is preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) to document the beneficial and adverse effects of implementing an Operational Interim Risk Reduction Measure (IRRM) at Beaver Dam on the White River. The IRRM will reduce risks to life safety, property and natural resources associated with being able to operate the dam effectively during extreme high-water events.
  • USACE announces second public workshop for Beaver Lake land acquisition study

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting a drop-in public workshop from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. September 13 at the Four Points by Sheraton Bentonville, 211 SE Walton Blvd., Bentonville, Arkansas. Information will be available at the workshop regarding potentially impacted properties and the newly proposed willing sellers only acquisition alternative. All interested persons are invited to attend the workshop and provide comments. Representatives from the Little Rock District will be present to answer questions on the acquisition process.
  • Warning horn below Beaver Dam fully restored

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers restored the warning horn at Beaver Dam this week. USACE installed a temporary horn after the main one went offline in February.
  • Swim Beach closures at Beaver Lake

    Several swim beaches at Beaver Lake have been closed due to a combination of high E. coli levels and submerged debris and obstacles.
  • Additional interim risk reduction measures to be implemented for Beaver Dam

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District is announcing interim risk reduction measures for Beaver Dam that will begin on Jan. 1, 2022. The new measures will allow engineers to lower the water levels behind Beaver Dam more efficiently following a significant rainfall event. Additionally, if conditions allow, the measures will also reduce the amount of time engineers have to regulate the White River at 12 feet near Newport, Arkansas.
  • Temporary lane closure of Highway 187 across Beaver Dam

    One lane of the Highway 187 bridge across Beaver Dam will close from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. July 21 and 22 to conduct a routine bridge inspection.
