HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers, Greers Ferry Project Office announces that day use swim beach in Dam Site Park has been retested and officials have determined that it is safe for public use.

Two acceptable water samples are required by the Health Department prior to reopening a swim beach.  The swim beach was temporarily closed because of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.   Officials believe the high bacteria level could be from goose droppings.

For more information on the status of recreation areas on Greers Ferry Lake call the Greers Ferry Project Office at 501-362-2416, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
