REVISED NOTICE

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

NM 222.0 to NM 223.2

MCCLELLAN-KERR ARKANSAS RIVER NAVIGATION SYSTEM

Due to shoaling, mariners are advised that until further notice, both upbound and downbound tows should run the green line between NM 222.0 and NM 223.2.  No passing is advised while transiting through this reach.  Note that the endpoints of this reach have adjusted slightly from those in the original Navigation Notice SWL 16-09.

The Army Corps of Engineers vessel M/V Shorty Baird and its crane barge will be in this area for the next several days to reset buoys and clam high spots.  Mariners are asked to contact the M/V Shorty Baird via Marine Channel 82 at least 30 minutes prior to reaching this area to ensure it is out of the way before arrival.

Questions or requests for additional information concerning this notice should be directed to James McKinnie in the Little Rock District Office, at (501) 324-5739 or (501) 324-5096, or you may email CESWL-OP-OM@usace.army.mil.
