CORPS WARNS PUBLIC OF HIGH FLOWS ON ARKANSAS RIVER

A small craft advisory was issued Nov. 28.  During high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft.

Small craft advisories are issued when flows exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second.  Flows at Trimble Lock and Dam near Fort Smith will reach reach 360,000 c.f.s. today. Flows at Murray Lock and Dam at Little Rock are expected to reach between 400,000 and 450,000 c.f.s. by late Wednesday or early Thursday.
