ROGERS, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers Beaver Lake Project Office will defer requests for shoreline use permits beginning May 1 through Oct. 14.  The duty ranger availability will also be reduced to Mondays only beginning May 1.

Deferred requests include fire protection, footpath permits, new boat dock requests, ambulatory assist vehicle permits, and requests for modifications to existing boat docks. More than 500 dock renewal and shoreline requests have been submitted for the reservoirs 483 miles of shoreline since October 2013.

Requests from current dock owners for transfer of ownership will continue to be accepted and processed. The park ranger staff will continue to work existing backlogged shoreline requests as long as the water level remains at an adequate level for site evaluation.

Permit holders are reminded that the terms and conditions of their permits will still be enforced and all zoning criteria and shoreline management regulations remain in effect. If you have any questions concerning shoreline requests of Beaver Lake, please contact Chief Ranger, Jared Trammell by calling 479-636-1210, ext. 1708.
