Sawrie named Chief of Contracting

Jonathan J. Sawrie was recently named the chief of contracting for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District. Sawrie replaces Sandra Easter who retired from federal service in December 2020.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Jonathan J. Sawrie was recently named the chief of contracting for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District. Sawrie replaces Sandra Easter who retired from federal service in December 2020.

In his new position, Sawrie serves as the senior contracting business advisor to the district commander and is responsible for managing the district’s contracting program. He supervises a team of contracting officers, contract specialists, and procurement analysts to direct, coordinate, and oversee the district’s multi-million dollar contracting program for civil works, military programs, and interagency and international support.

Sawrie has 37-years of federal service with the Little Rock District. He began his career with the Little Rock District in 1984 as a part-time student aide at the Toad Suck Ferry Project Office. Upon graduation from college, he accepted a temporary position as a procurement clerk at the Russellville Resident Office on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System.
