ROGERS, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Beaver Project Office has closed Horseshoe Bend campground swim beach on Beaver Lake until further notice. The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.
All other swim beaches on Beaver Lake, which are not closed because of the high lake level, are available for public use. The link to high water facility closures at Beaver Lake is https://go.usa.gov/xyYN5.
The Corps has posted signs indicating high bacteria levels at this location. Swimming is not recommended in areas with high bacteria levels. Once bacteria levels are within the acceptable range the swim beach will reopen.
