Even though flows have receded below that threshold, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.

  • Corps issues small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers issued a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River downstream of Russellville, Arkansas. Releases from the flood control lakes in Oklahoma have caused flows to rise. Small craft advisories are issued when flows exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second. During high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft.

  • DEWEY SHORT VISITOR CENTER OPEN FOR SEASON

    BRANSON, Mo. – The Dewey Short Visitor Center is now open for the season daily from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Located just south of Table Rock Dam on State Highway 165, the visitor center offers several interactive displays, a 22-minute film about the purpose and construction of the dam, and viewing decks overlooking Table Rock Lake and Dam. Picnic facilities and a 2.2 mile asphalt surface trail are located on the visitor center grounds.
  • CORPS REMINDS PUBLIC THAT HIGHWAY 165 BRIDGE ACROSS TABLE ROCK DAM TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE

    BRANSON, Mo. – The Corps of Engineers is reminding the public that it will close both lanes of Highway 165 across Table Rock Dam from 8 p.m. March 7 until 6 a.m. March 8 to install equipment needed to refurbish the dam’s head gates.
