Mr. Craig Pierce

Craig Pierce serves as the Deputy for Programs and Project Management and Chief, Programs and Project Management Division for the Little Rock District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).  He began this assignment in May 2018.  In this position, Craig is responsible for staff leadership and oversight of the District’s Civil Works, Military, and Interagency and International Support programs.

       Mr. Pierce’s previous assignments within the Little Rock District include Chief, Engineering and Construction Division; Chief, Medical Support Division; Chief, Programs and Project Management Division (PPMD); Chief, Military Programs Branch in PPMD; Project Manager; and Study Manager.  He also served as the Deputy District Engineer for Programs and Project Management for the Transatlantic Afghanistan District from May 2015 to May 2016.  Craig has served as an instructor for the Project Management-Military Programs PROSPECT Course since 2010. 

       Prior to joining USACE in 2004, Mr. Pierce was as a Project Manager and Senior Engineer at an engineering firm in Little Rock.  He also served as an active-duty Air Force Biomedical Science Corps officer for 10 years.  Upon separating from active duty, he transferred to the Arkansas Air National Guard as a drill-status (i.e. part-time) guardsman.  He retired as a Colonel in January 2017 with over 26 years of military service.  His last assignment was Commander, 189th Medical Group at Little Rock Air Force Base. 

      Mr. Pierce holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Squadron Officer’s School, Air Command and Staff College, and Air War College.   He has also completed the Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executive Fellows program.  He is a registered Professional Engineer in Arkansas and Texas and is a certified Project Management Professional.  He is also a member of the Society of American Military Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers.

       His civilian awards include the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, Superior Civilian Service Award (2 Awards), Bronze De Fleury Medal, Little Rock District Civilian of the Year, and Little Rock District Project Manager of the Year.  His military awards include the Legion of Merit, Air Force Meritorious Service Medal (2 Awards), Air Force Commendation Medal (2 Awards), and Air Force Achievement Medal.
